Continuing its aggressive expansion in the Southeast, Renasant Corp. in Tupelo, Miss., has set up shop Tuscaloosa, Ala., and brought in two former BB&T Corp. to build up its customer base there.
The $4.3 billion-asset company announced Tuesday that it has hired Kyle Faught as Tuscaloosa city president and Charity Golden as manager of its Tuscaloosa branch. Both had held similar positions in the Tuscaloosa market with BB&T.
"The addition of Kyle Faught and Charity Golden to the Renasant team gives us two established and well-respected bankers in the Tuscaloosa market, so we will hit the ground running," John Bentley, North Central Alabama Area President for Renasant, said in a news release.
Renasant's move into Tuscaloosa follows the company's announcements earlier this summer that it had opened its first office in Montgomery, Ala., and that it was expanding into the Birmingham market with a deal to acquire the trust division of RBC Bank, the U.S. unit of Royal Bank of Canada.
Over the last 12 months the company has also established de novo branches in the Mississippi cities of Starkville and Columbus and moved into Georgia with acquisitions of two failed banks. Renasant now has about 75 branches in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.
