The president and chief executive of Rocky Mountain Bank in Billings, Mont., is moving on to Herring Bank in Amarillo, Texas.
Danny Skarda will become president and CEO of the $504 million-asset Texas lender after he leaves Rocky Mountain on April 24. Chief Credit Officer Curtis Chrystal will serve as Rocky Mountain's interim president and CEO, the bank said Friday.
Herring officials did not immediately respond to American Banker's inquiries.
Skarda, 64, has been with Rocky Mountain Bank since it was acquired 10 years ago by Heartland Financial USA (HTLF), a $5.1 billion multibank holding company in Dubuque, Iowa.
Chrystal, 56, joined Rocky Mountain four years ago. Previously, he was president and CEO of First National Bank in Junction City, Kan., a regional president with U.S. Bancorp (USB) and a business banking manager at Wells Fargo (WFC).
Rocky Mountain has $466 million in assets and 10 branches, all in Montana.
