Scottrade to Open California Branches

Scottrade Inc. announced that it plans to open two branches in Orange County, Calif.

The St. Louis investment firm said that it will open a branch in Tustin Foothills today and one in Huntington Beach on Feb. 2.

Scottrade already has four Orange County branches, in Irvine, Anaheim, Newport Beach, and Laguna Hills.

"We believe it is important to have branch offices where our customers work and live," Rodger Riney, Scottrade's founder, president and chief executive officer, said in a press release that the company issued last week. "While most of our customers trade online, our local offices allow us to provide a better customer experience for online investors."

Scottrade has 375 branches nationally. It does not provide investment advice at its branches, but stock brokers are available to answer account-related questions, provide customer service, and give tutorials on its online trading services.
