Short Takes: American Century Hires 2 for Midwest Sales

American Century Investments has filled out its national roster of top sales positions for banks in recent weeks, the company announced.

Jim McCoun has joined the Kansas City, Mo.-based mutual fund company as a vice president. As Ohio Valley territory sales manager, he will work to establish sales relationships with banks and trusts.

Before joining American Century, he was with Fidelity Investments, Boston, where he marketed a trust accounting system to the small and midsize markets, and a 401(k) bundled product to banks.

Lisa Calvert has been named Midwest territory sales manager. She was previously an internal wholesaler for all territories of the bank channel for American Century.

The pair join David Swan, West region; Jamie Teschner, Southeast region; and DeAnna Baselr, Northeast region.

American Century manages about $71 billion of assets in 60 mutual funds.
