The brokerage arm of CCB Financial Corp. of Durham, N.C., says it plans to hire an additional nine brokers by June.
CCB Financial has 30 brokers covering about 200 branches. Some brokers have complained they were spread too thin, said Stephen Angelis, the president of CCB Investor Services.
"It's difficult when you have a representative covering nine, 10, or 11 branches," he said.
Mr. Angelis said the additions are part of an effort by the $7.7 billion-asset banking company to increase market share and fee income. "It should increase revenues rather dramatically," he said.
