Short Takes: Jackson National Life Appoints Thrift CEO

Jackson National Life has named D. Tad Lowrey chairman and chief executive officer of Jackson Federal Savings Bank.

Mr. Lowrey was CEO of Cenfed Financial Corp. of Pasadena, Calif., for 10 years, before it was bought by Golden State Bancorp last year.

Mr. Lowrey has also been an executive with a mortgage banking company and chief financial officer of two savings banks. He has held various trade group and community organization positions.

Jackson National bought the San Bernardino, Calif.-based thrift in the fall.
