Singapore Group Offers PayPal

E-Commerce Association of Singapore has agreed to offer its online merchant clients payments services from PayPal Inc.

The trade group said Friday that it had become a channel partner for the eBay Inc. unit, a deal that enables its clients to add PayPal as a payment option on their Web sites.

PayPal has said international expansion is one of its key goals.

The online payments company announced a similar agreement earlier this month with Taiwantrade.com, a unit of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council., and a partnership with a South African bank last month.

Gene Wong, the head of merchant services in PayPal's Asia unit, said in an ECAS press release that the Singapore deal would help online merchants there "reach out to PayPal's extensive base of users and offer more value to their existing ones."
