Southeastern bankers form consulting firm focused on sales practices

A group of former bankers have formed a consulting and technology company.

Archie Kelly, who worked at Bank of America for 24 years and recently was director of treasury management at United Community Banks, is managing principal of SalesPhysics. Ken Pate, who was at BofA for 25 years before joining Ameris Bancorp, is the firm's managing member of technology.

The former bankers also wrote a book on sales practices that they expect to publish next month.

“We believe the SalesPhysics methodology will be one the most sought-after programs in the country for financial institutions and businesses that have a passion for maximizing the value they create for their current and future customers,” Kelly said in a press release. “In addition, we have developed a technology-based patent pending application that will help a company or financial institution monitor and track increases or decreases in customer value.”

C. John Hipp, a former CEO of SCBT Financial and NewDominion Bank in Charlotte, N.C., has joined Kelly and Pate as an investor and chairman.

“I have known Archie and Ken for over 12 years and believe their leadership coupled with this innovative and dynamic strategy will make SalesPhysics one of the fastest growing companies in the Southeast,” Hipp said in the release. “My entire professional career has been built on associating with winning teams and I have 100% confidence in our team.”

SalesPhysics has hired two other people who will be work out of Charlotte and Greeneville, S.C.

The company expects to hire other employees in sales, training and administrative posts across the country.
