State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street Corp., announced Tuesday that it had started two SPDR exchange-traded funds on the American Stock Exchange.
The SPDR DJ Wilshire Global Real Estate Exchange Traded Fund is invested in more than 240 commercial and residential real estate companies in 23 countries. The SPDR S&P International Mid-Cap Exchange Traded Fund invests in an index that tracks 850 companies with market capitalizations of $2 billion to $5 billion in 25 developed countries outside the United States.
James Ross, a senior managing director at State Street, said the portfolios were created to enhance State Street's group of international exchange-traded funds. State Street had $148.2 billion of ETF assets under management at March 31.
