Talaris, Panini Pact Rolls Up Check, Cash, Coin Processing

Talaris, the former De La Rue teller cash automation hardware giant that was acquired two months ago by The Carlyle Group, has teamed up check-scanner firm Panini in a global partnership to create a single-source point for cash, coin and check processing.

The deal calls for Talaris to distribute Panini’s check-image capture hardware, which is at the heart of many North American institutions’ remote deposit capture services. The partnership allies two venerable banking system firms: Panini is an Italian firm with roots back into the ‘40s, and Talaris boasts of being the originator of the first coin dispenser in 1895.

“As a result of our partnership with Panini, Talaris customers will be able to fully realize the advantages, such as accuracy and speed, of total cash, coin and check automation,” says Chris Reagan, president of Talaris North America.
