International Business Machines Corp. and NCR Corp. will include software from Exchange Applications in bundled packages of data warehouse-related software and services they are marketing to banks.
Boston-based Exchange Applications sells Valex software, which helps institutions manage marketing campaigns. Customers include BankAmerica, KeyCorp, Fleet Financial Group, and BC Telecom, Canada's second-largest telecommunications company.
NCR signed a reseller agreement to include Valex in its software and services for data warehousing, including software for monitoring customer response to marketing campaigns, software for creating customer segmentation strategies, and NCR's Teradata data base software.
IBM said it would incorporate Valex in a similar set of data warehousing-related products. IBM's bundled set of products includes data mining software, data models, hardware, and data base software.
