Travelocity Teams Up with MasterCard

PURCHASE, N.Y. — MasterCard International and Travelocity.com Inc. have signed a marketing agreement that will include customer promotions, links to each other’s Web sites, and a cobranded card offering.

Terrell B. Jones, president and chief executive officer of Travelocity, said the partnership should profit from the increasing number of travel reservations made on the Internet.

As part of the agreement, MasterCard will feature the Internet company on the travel section of its Web site. Travelocity will display MasterCard’s logo on its site and include links.

The cobranded card, called the Travelocity World MasterCard, carries reward points that cardholders can use toward travel reservations without blackout dates or other restrictions.
