PartnersFirst Affinity Services has agreed to use a custom card-production service from the processor Total System Services Inc.
TSYS, of Columbus, Ga., said the deal, announced Tuesday, is the first to result from its April partnership with Serverside Group Ltd. of London.
The TSYS Card Shop service lets banks order cards on demand, eliminating the need to keep stocks of pre-manufactured payment cards; issuers can order just one credit card rather than hundreds, said TSYS spokesman Cyle Mims. "What card shop does, if you are a bank or any partner of ours, it lets you print cards as they're ordered with images on that card," he said.
PartnersFirst, also of Columbus, is a unit of Torrey Pines Bank of San Diego. It provides credit card services for small and midsize affinity groups. Torrey Pines Bank is a unit of Western Alliance Bancorp of Las Vegas.
Serverside operates card programs for more than 1,000 issuers in 23 countries.
