Two Large Credit Unions Deploy DeposZip Mobile

Two multi-billion-dollar credit unions have expanded their remote deposit capture (RDC) services for members by launching the DeposZip Mobile program, including a suite of downloadable software applications for smartphones, from Vertifi Software, a subsidiary of Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union.

Deploying the new solution are $3.7-billion Randolph-Brooks FCU in Live Oak, Texas, and $4-billion Digital FCU of Marlborough, Mass.

According to the company, the custom-branded applications enable both credit unions to broadly deploy remote deposit capture technology across multiple smartphone platforms, including Apple's iPhone and Google's Android phones that run version 2.0 or greater. The two credit unions currently have more than 55,000 combined users of their Vertifi-hosted desktop versions of RDC.

The applications are available as free downloads on the App Store and Google's Android Market. The applications make use of the phone's built-in camera to acquire the images, and image pre-processing and validation takes place on-device. Checks are processed electronically end-to-end through Vertifi, and deposits are posted to members' accounts in real time with immediate access to check images.

DeposZip Mobile relies on the same administrative platform as the DeposZip desktop version.
