VeriFone (PAY) announced Tuesday that French department store chain Galeries Lafayette has chosen it for its payment services.

The San Jose company said the five-year pact includes managed services, software and roughly 3,200 terminals that support credit, debit and EMV transactions.

VeriFone is providing Galeries Lafayette with its PAYware Wynid managed services platform. The software will allow the retailer to keep track of all of its stores in both its home country and Germany.

"Galeries Lafayette is one of the largest retailers in France — and operator of the biggest retail store in Paris with 750 card acceptance stations — and represents a tremendous competitive win for VeriFone in France," said Olivier Guiot, VeriFone's  general manager in charge of the company's business in France, in a press release. "This demonstrates the appeal that our services-based approach to payments holds for large retailers."
