ATLANTA -- Wachovia Corp. said its banks in Georgia and North Carolina will be the first in the country to print "Visa Check" on automated teller machine cards.
The name is applied to the service formerly called Visa Debit and is said to be more descriptive of the way the card can be used in place of cash or checks.
In August. the Wachovia Banking Card with Visa Check will be introduced free for six months. Thereafter, the fee will be $1 a month. allowing unlimited point of sale purchases.
