Washington Trust Bancorp Inc. in Westerly, R.I., said Tuesday that the chancellor of Johnson & Wales University has joined its board.
John Bowen also joined the board of the $2.89 billion-asset company's Washington Trust Co.
Johnson & Wales, which specializes in culinary arts, has campuses in Providence, R.I.; North Miami, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Denver.
The Cleveland-based bank is projecting steady growth in net interest income even as credit losses remain manageable. But Chairman and CEO Chris Gorman also said that he thinks a recession is likely.
