Weber Named Wincor Nixdorf U.S. Chief

Wincor Nixdorf AG said Wednesday that it has promoted Oliver Weber to chief executive for U.S. operations.

Weber joined the automated teller machine maker in September 2003 as head of its corporate controlling department. He has been chief financial officer and chief operating officer of the U.S. operations in Austin, Texas, since April 2007.

Jens Bohlen, who had been acting CEO since October 2010, remains a director.

"During his tenure, Oliver Weber has been instrumental in supporting the growth of Wincor Nixdorf in the U.S. financial services and retail industries," Eckard Heidloff, the German company's president and CEO, said in a press release.

Weber, Heidloff continued, "has a deep understanding of the U.S. market, our company and our solutions. We look forward to continuing this U.S. growth pattern under his expanded leadership."

Gina Miller, who had been director of finance and performance management, is taking over as CFO.
