Wells Fargo Sends 100 Millionth ATM E-Receipt

In the two years since Wells Fargo introduced digital ATM receipts, its customers have sent themselves roughly 100 million such "e-receipts."

Wells Fargo online banking customers have the choice to have an ATM receipt sent to an online banking inbox or to a designated personal e-mail account. The San Francisco bank says the digital notes account for roughly 12 percent of its e-receipt eligible ATM transactions.

"We are thrilled that customers have embraced the e-receipt option, and to be extending this choice into our stores," says Alicia Moore, Wells Fargo's head of ATM banking, in a press release.

She added that as more customers manage their finances online, e-receipts provide a more efficient way for customers to keep a ledger of their transactions.

Not every transaction conducted at a Wells Fargo ATM is eligible for an e-receipt. Transactions conducted by non-Wells Fargo customers and by Wells Fargo customers who don't use online banking are ineligible. "We're working on being able to offer this to all customers in the future," says spokeswoman Richele Messick.
