The online payment provider WePay Inc. announced a donation function Thursday called WePay Giving.
The system allows donors to "join" the account to see how funds are being spent. The vendor said this feature should alleviate donor fears over how their donations are allocated.
"Our users now have the tools to collect money without any barriers," Bill Clerico, WePay's chief executive, said in a press release.
Donated funds can be spent by check, debit card or by transferring them to a linked bank account.
WePay, of Palo Alto, Calif., said it would promote a different cause each week on the website it set up for WePay Giving.
