Westpac Deploying Hypercom Terminals

Westpac Banking Corp. has begun installing 15,000 Hypercom Corp. Optimum point of sale terminals as part of a $50 million deal the two companies announced last year.

Hypercom, of Scottsdale, Ariz., said Tuesday that the terminals, its T4210, T4220, T4230 and M4230 models, are now shipping to the Australian financial company.

Westpac, of Sydney, also is using ACG Group Pty Ltd., a Hypercom subsidiary, to service the bank's 80,000 terminals that are already at merchant locations.

ACG's services include loading software onto terminals, installation and technical support.
