The Wilber Corp., Oneonta, N.Y., promoted Alfred S. Whittet to president and chief executive officer and to CEO of its Wilber National Bank.

He succeeded Robert W. Moyer, who retired from those posts but will remain vice chairman.

Mr. Whittet had been president and chief operating officer of $517 million-asset Wilber National Bank; he remains its president.

He joined Wilber National in 1972 as an assistant vice president after being an assistant national bank examiner and a year later became vice president. In 1976 he was promoted to executive vice president, and in 1986, he was named president and chief operating officer.
