Zions Taps SunTrust Treasurer to Replace Retiring Chief Financial Officer

Zions Bancorp. in Salt Lake City has hired a SunTrust Banks executive to replace Doyle Arnold, who is retiring in May as chief financial officer.

The $57 billion-asset company said in a press release Friday that Paul Burdiss, SunTrust's corporate treasurer, will succeed Arnold after first-quarter financial results are reported. Arnold, who is also Zions' vice chairman, has been at the company for 14 years.

Burdiss oversees SunTrust's investment portfolio, capital management, liquidity and interest rate risk management. He has also been involved in supporting the $186 billion-asset Atlanta company's stress testing and Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review process.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Burdiss was the treasurer at Comerica and previously served as the financial institution's director of investor relations.
