Matthew Miller, the man who lost more than $1,400 to Chase in a puzzling series of overdraft fees last month has written to BankThink with an update, which we wanted to share with our readers:
"When I went to my branch two days ago, nearly everyone in line was having a similar problem, but of much lesser magnitude," he wrote in an email. "Two people closed their accounts on the spot.
"The switch from WaMu to Chase was made to appear to be simply a name-change, and the actual services we enjoyed with WaMu would not be altered. Sadly, that is not the case, and I am $1,400+ poorer for my assumption the bank was being forthright in their claims.
"I am going to try one last time today to see if I can get any of the fees reversed, but I am so beat-down by this I may just give up."
