This victory for Fox is a victory for transparency

We've got to hand it to them ... Fox Business News sued the Treasury Department for failing to comply with Fox's Freedom of Information Act requests in November and December of 2008. Today they won.

A U.S. District Court judge in New York ordered the Treasury to comply with the original FOIA requests and also provide an index of all of the documents they've witheld. Fox asked for details about the use of bailout funds at AIG, Bank of New York Mellon and Citigroup.

Fox has a similar lawsuit pending against the Federal Reserve.

A new era of transparency indeed.
