Payments-software company ACI Worldwide Inc. has acquired payments-software provider ISD Corp. for an undisclosed amount, a move that adds 140 retailers to ACI’s client base, Carolyn Homberger, ACI vice president of programs and operations, tells PaymentsSource.
ISD provides secure payment-management software for retailers in the United States and Canada, according to ACI. With the acquisition, ACI now has 220 retailers worldwide using its payment systems.
More than 70 third-party processors have adopted ISD’s in-store integration tools, which protect consumer data in compliance with Payment Card Industry data-security standards, ACI noted in a March 22 news release.
ACI plans to integrate ISD’s software products with its Retail Commerce Server, which includes management-software systems that support immediate reward redemptions, refunds authorization and prepaid products.
The combination of ACI’s on-demand hosted software service and ISD’s integration components, such as the tokenization of consumer data, can help lower costs for retailers, Homberger says. “We also offer more flexibility and a more rapid time to market with our on-demand service,” she says. “And we take care of the compliance issues for the retailer.”
