Affinity CU Pilots Prepaid Card For Hispanic Market

DES MOINES - Affinity CU has rolled out prepaid reloadable card geared especially to serve the underserved Hispanic market.

Affinity was awarded nearly $40,000 through an Innovation Grant from the National CU Foundation to launch the program with the assistance of the Iowa CU League's Coopera Consulting and The Members Group.

Affinity partnered with Coopera earlier this year to begin their Hispanic outreach initiative and together determined that repackaging a reloadable card program specifically for Hispanics would be a financial solution well-suited for this market. In addition to offering the prepaid reload card to the Hispanic community, Affinity will work with Coopera to launch a comprehensive outreach program to include grassroots marketing tactics, financial education and community development efforts to support the product.
