Alliance Data Systems Corp. says it will provide private-label credit card services to the retailer Talbots Inc. It has also acquired the $145 million in receivables associated with Talbots' private-label credit card file.
Alliance Data plans to acquire the credit card accounts as well, pending regulatory approval. The card file it acquired has a modest level of delinquencies, Alliance Data said.
"We look forward to helping Talbots achieve their sales and growth goals and believe this is the beginning of a long, results-driven partnership," said Melisa Miller, president of Alliance Data Retail Services, in a press release Sept. 17.
Mike Archbold, chief executive officer and chief financial officer of Talbots, said in the release, "We look forward to working together with Alliance Data to continue to build long-term customer loyalty and grow the Talbots brand through our Talbots Charge private label credit card and rewards program."
Talbots is owned by Sycamore Partners' TLB Holdings LLC.
