United States-based Allpoint, the nation's largest surcharge-free ATM network with 35,000 machines, in November will expand to the United Kingdom, where the company plans to deploy 2,500 surcharge-free ATMs, Ben Psillas, the company's president, tells CardLine Global sister publication ATM&Debit News. Allpoint, which is owned by Cardtronics Inc., the world's largest ATM independent sales organization based on the number of machines it owns, said it will use the ATMs of sister company Bank Machine Ltd., which is based in the UK. Allpoint announced an expansion to the UK a year ago but dropped plans until it could resolve some problems concerning operations, Psillas says. Allpoint also might expand to Mexico, where another sister company, Mexico City-based Cardtronics Mexico, operates a network of 1,581 ATMs.
