, President, Global Merchant Services as an Executive Officer of the Company, effective immediately. Mr. Glenn, who has worldwide responsibility for the merchant network of

, will join the Operating Committee which is responsible for setting the Companyâs strategic direction and policies.
Global Merchant Services is a part of the Business-to-Business segment, led by

. It is a merchant acquirer, processor and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept the American Express Card. In 2007, the combined global Billed Business volume processed by the merchant network was

Mr. Glenn joined

in 2002 leading the merchant business in
North America
and took on additional responsibility for worldwide operations, pricing, marketing and strategy for the merchant network in 2005. Since that time he has led the Companyâs efforts to expand Card acceptance in new categories such as residential rent and business-to-business transactions. He was named to his current role as head of the global merchant network in June of 2007. Prior to joining
American Express
, Mr. Glenn was President of Pepsi-Cola North Americaâs Food Service Division overseeing sales, marketing, operations, customer service and finance for the unit.
