Chase Paymentech Solutions LLC this week announced a marketing partnership with the Web site Angie's List in which the Dallas-based payment processor promises to offer thousands of small businesses "preferential pricing" on credit and debit card payment-acceptance services. Indianapolis-based Angie's List provides consumer ratings and reviews of local service providers such a plumbers, landscapers and general contractors. Some 41% of such small-business service providers do not accept credit or debit cards, relying instead on checks and cash, according to a survey Angie's List conducted last October. The alliance, dubbed Angie's List Merchant Services, consists of customer-service specialists and a specific Web site promoting Chase Paymentech's credit card-acceptance services to Angie's List businesses. Chase Paymentech says it offers businesses touted on Angie's List payment-acceptance services at "prices lower than what they could get on their own," according to a spokesperson, noting transaction costs vary based on the type of business and payments it accepts. "Many businesses on our list are too busy to shop around for the best credit card-acceptance deals, and we are hoping to make their lives easier through this service," an Angie's List spokesperson tells CardLine.
