Apriva, Amano McGann Partner to Bring EMV to Parking Payments

End-to-end wireless transactions provider Apriva has teamed up with parking payment technology provider Amana McGann to integrate EMV technology into parking systems across the United States.

Amano McGann's parking payment systems will use the Apriva Gateway to support acceptance of EMV-chip cards, which improve security over magnetic-stripe cards. The change will affect attended and unattended parking systems at 5,000 locations nationwide.

The partnership will allow the parking systems company to incorporate other emerging payments technologies, according to Joe Survance, Amano McGann's senior vice president for marketing and business development.

"Apriva is the ideal partner to enhance our payment systems to support EMV acceptance," Survance said. "Not only will our combined solution provide us an option to present to our current and future customers to accept new EMV cards, but they connect us to most major processors and can accommodate emerging payment forms."
