More consumers in Australia seem likely to tie their PayPal accounts directly to their checking accounts instead of to credit cards, according to the Australian-arm of the United States-based online-payments firm. PayPal based the findings on a survey of 1,274 Australian consumers  conducted earlier this month. Fifty-one percent of respondents said they likely would link their PayPal accounts to their bank accounts, while only 32% said the same about credit cards. "Security is the biggest factor," Peter Arnold, an  analyst with Australia-based Cannex, tells CardLine Global. "People will be much more willing to disclose the details of [a bank] account which they will keep minimal money in, rather than their credit card, in which they may have several thousand dollars at stake." PayPal offered no immediate comment.
