Australia’s ANZ bank adds Garmin Pay to digital menu

The Australian and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) is the latest to announce support for Garmin Pay, enabling customers to make contactless payments via the wearable payments technology Garmin Pay.

ANZ customers may load an eligible debit or credit card within a Garmin Pay account and make payments at any contactless-enabled merchant terminal using the vivoactive 3, Garmin’s latest smart watch, according to a Wednesday press release.

"The wearables market continues to grow with more than 26 million devices shipped worldwide in the third quarter of 2017 alone, so we know our customers will appreciate the ability to pay on their Garmin device," Bob Belan, ANZ's managing director of products, said in the release.

ANZ already supports Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay and Fitbit Pay.

Garmin Pay launched earlier this year and went live on the vivoactive 3 last month. Other banks that support Garmin Pay include Bank of America, Capital One, U.S. Bank, several U.S. credit unions and a growing number of international banks, including Russia’s Sberbank.
