Bangladesh Banks Ink Network-Sharing Agreement

Bangladesh’s Southeast Bank Ltd., which recently launched a Visa-branded debit card called the SEBL My Card, has signed an ATM and point-of-sale network sharing agreement with Brac Bank Ltd.

Terms were not disclosed. Both institutions are based in Dhaka.

Under the agreement, Southeast customers may access Brac’s 400 ATMs and more than 1,200 POS terminals in the country to make cash withdrawals and purchases at no charge, Southeast noted in a statement.

Brac also issues more than 500,000 Visa-branded debit and credit cards.

Both banks declined to comment beyond the statement.
