Bank of America Merchant Services has launched a new operation in Canada.
The launch of a new Toronto-based organization is part of the company's continuous global expansion of payment services alongside banking products, says Tim Tynan, chief executive officer of Bank of America Merchant Services in a June 5 press release.
The Canadian unit already has relationships with all major Canadian credit and debit card processing networks, the company says, and is offering products and services that range from payments and commerce to security and advice, to Canadian customers and to U.S. customers doing business in Canada.
David Ades will lead operations as the unit's general manager. Most recently he served as chief revenue officer at Plastiq Inc. in Boston. Bank of America Merchant Services is a joint venture between First Data and Bank of America.
