BB&T Corp. has entered into a multiyear agreement with Cardtronics Inc.’s Allpoint network to expand surcharge-free ATM access to the issuer’s debit cardholders in Florida and Texas, the companies announced Dec. 9.
Under the deal, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&T cardholders will have surcharge-free access to more than 5,600 ATM locations in Florida and Texas, up from 309 BB&T-owned machines previously, Allpoint says in the statement.
Debit cardholders in those states also may access Allpoint’s 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs worldwide.
Representatives from both BB&T and Allpoint could not be reached for comment.
