BillingTree hires fintech vet Christine Lee as CEO

As BillingTree moves deeper into verticals such as health care, it will be helmed by new leadership as Christine Lee becomes CEO.

Lee, who wasn’t immediately available for comment, was hired to replace Edgars Sturans, who will remain with BillingTree as a board member.

Lee’s experience covers a wide range of financial services IT, including president of North American Strategic Partnerships at Moneris, a payments technology company that serves restaurants and other industries. Lee has also served on the board of payments fraud company SecureBuy.

Additionally, Lee has led teams at Vantiv, NPC, Bank of America and is the president-elect of the Electronic Transactions Association. She’s also served as president of the Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions.

At BillingTree, Lee will be responsible for overseeing the company’s strategy in auto finance, banking, credit unions and health care.

BillingTree also recently integrated digital payment systems from Internet Payment Exchange (iPayX) to build a gateway for health care finance including debit, credit, ACH, e-check, FSA and HSA payments. It also added a cloud-hosted audit trail, document access and email-powered billing and payments information.
