Direct carrier billing provider Boku Inc. will partner with Corethree to allow consumers to pay for bus tickets on their mobile phone bills.
Consumers will use Boku through the existing MoBus mobile ticketing application from Corethree, the companies stated in a Sept. 18 press release. The Corethree software, which also supports payment cards, will now provide "mobile" as a payment method selection.
Corethree applies the bus ticket charges to the consumer's mobile phone bill or deducts it from a prepaid balance if the customer chooses Boku's e-Money option.
The companies said they would continue to work on m-ticketing software and direct carrier billing to possibly expand the technology into other areas.
