VeriFone Holdings Inc. has launched the QX1000, a contactless reader designed to connect to point-of-sale devices, electronic cash registers and computers. Besides accepting contactless payments, the device also works with the Mifare transit scheme, VeriFone says.

NYCE Payments Network LLC has signed an agreement to process PIN-debit and ATM transactions for Community Bank N.A. of DeWitt, N.Y. Community Bank, which has branches in upstate New York and Northeastern Pennsylvania, where it is known as First Liberty Bank, has issued 135,000 debit cards and operates 132 ATMs, an NYCE spokesperson says.
