As expected, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., yesterday reintroduced the Credit Card Fair Fee Act of 2009. The bill, which would enable merchants to collectively bargain interchange rates directly with Visa and MasterCard issuers, accompanies legislation of the same name introduced in the House last week and is similar to a bill Durbin sponsored last year. ... Discover Financial Services this week launched the Children's Miracle Network Discover Card, its first-ever cobranded charity card. Cardholders will receive 2% cash back on Children's Miracle Network donations and 5% cash back on other purchases.
