Independent sales organization Cardtronics Inc. on Aug. 2 announced a multiyear deal in which its Cardtronics USA Inc. unit will provide ATM-management services in approximately 800 stores operated by Kroger Inc. Terms were not disclosed.
Among the services the Houston-based ISO will provide include installation, cash management, maintenance, customer service, monitoring and transaction processing. Cardtronics expects to begin providing the services later this quarter.
Cardtronics will include the machines in its Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network.
Most of the sites have one ATM, though a few might have one or two more, says Joel Antonini, a Cardtronics spokesperson. He was uncertain who might have managed the ATMs previously and whether the deal eventually might expand to include machines deployed in Kroger’s 2,700 other supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states.
