Chase Pay adds merchants to entice travelers

JPMorgan Chase has moved Chase Pay into the "on the go" market in securing global restaurateur HMSHost and city parking provider Parkmobile to accept the bank's mobile wallet.

Chase Pay expects to be available with most HMSHost locations in the U.S. by the end of 2017. The company operates nearly 2,000 restaurant locations in more than 80 North American airports and 99 motorway service centers.

Chase Pay users will also be able to pay from their phones through the Parkmobile app for parking spots in cities across the country, including reserve parking at concert venues and arenas. The app allows a user to sign up multiple vehicle accounts.

The service will work for on-demand and prepaid parking on the street, in city garages, at airports and other events in the U.S.

“We know how valuable our customers’ time is when on the road for work or play,” Jennifer Roberts, leader of the Chase Pay team and president of strategic alliances and loyalty at Chase, said in a Feb. 7 press release. “We are excited that these new partnerships will make our customers’ travel that much easier.”

Chase Pay made its debut just prior to the 2016 holiday shopping season when it became available for use at Starbucks and Best Buy locations.

Just before that debut, Chase Pay finished an agreement with Walmart to make the mobile payment app available for use in Walmart stores and with the Walmart mobile application.
