Chase is planning to enable users of the Chase Pay app to receive and redeem custom offers from merchants, in addition to the ability to find offers from more than 150 merchants through the Chase Mobile app.
Chase Offers lets users select and add deals through the Chase Mobile app so they can use them with eligible credit and debit cards. The personalized deals will appear in the Chase Pay app starting in December.
With the holiday season fast approaching, Chase says these features could help merchants directly reach the card issuer's millions of customers.
“We are making paying with Chase more rewarding and simpler for our customers so they can keep more of their hard earned money when they shop at popular merchants," Abeer Bhatia, president of card marketing, pricing and innovation at Chase Card Services, said in a Wednesday press release.
“For merchants, it is an easy way to engage customers with great deals, while keeping checkout straightforward,” Bhatia added.
To redeem an offer, customers use their card with the added offer to make a purchase at the selected merchant and automatically receive a statement credit with no registration, coupons or vouchers required.
