Citigroup Inc. on May 15 rolled out its ninth cobranded rewards credit card with longtime card-issuing partner American Airlines Inc.
The CitiBusiness AAdvantage World MasterCard targets small-business owners and provides features similar to its other cobranded cards targeting upscale consumers.
Citi's latest travel card carries a $95 annual fee and offers cardholders double miles on American Airlines purchases and one mile for every dollar spent elsewhere. Cardholders also receive a 5% bonus on card purchases during each calendar year and their first checked bag free on American flights.
During each year when cardholders spend at least $30,000 and renew their card, they receive one free flight for a companion and 25% off in-flight purchases with their card.
The card's features are similar to the $95-a-year Citi Platinum Select Visa Signature card. It joins a lineup that includes various other American Airlines cobranded cards, including the $450-a-year CitiExecutive World Elite MasterCard, which provides various perks and higher reward-earning rates, plus an EMV chip card enabling cardholders to secure international transactions.
As one of the few card issuers providing a cobranded card through multiple card networks, Citi also offers a cobranded card with American Express Co.
Citi issued its first cobranded card with American in 1987.
