Under the program, launched Nov. 1, cardholders receive 5% off their grocery bills when shopping at Haddon House, a popular supermarket in Seoul frequented by expatriates.

Additionally, the English-language service includes text-message notifications of transactions and offers, electronic statements, Internet and mobile banking, and a 24/7 help line.

The issuer also is making concierge service available through a dedicated call center, and a dedicated website provides special functionalities, including text notifications, online reservations, and driving directions.

Expats may apply for three Visa-branded credit cards–the Citi PremierMiles card, the Shinsegae Citicard Quattro and the Citi Revolving Visa card. The PremierMiles card comes with an annual fee of 12,000 won (US$10 or 9 euros), and the annual fee for the two others is of 5,000 won.

To promote the launch, Citibank also is supporting extra discounts, special coupons and a sweepstakes drawing for a culinary journey to Singapore.
