Comdata Deal Replaces Checks With Card Number

IMGCAP(1)]

Comdata Corp. says its deal with Regal Software Technologies LLC announced this week enables businesses to pay their bills via a unique MasterCard Worldwide account number instead of issuing a paper check. Atlanta-based Regal sells business management software used by mid- to large-sized organizations. A spokesperson for Brentwood, Tenn.-based Comdata says it will supply a payment component in the software that electronically generates a MasterCard account number for each vendor payment, a step that also enables settlement data to be automatically reconciled within the software. The business then pays the vendor using this "virtual" card. MasterCard is Comdata's exclusive payment card partner, the spokesperson says. Comdata is a processor and prepaid card issuer.
