Commonwealth Bank of Australia is offering a social payments app called CommBank Kaching for Android handsets. The bank will also launch a Facebook app later this year.
CommBank Kaching is available on Google Play for use on 13 Android devices. It lets users make peer-to-peer payments using a recipient’s mobile phone or email address. Customers will also be able to make payments to their Facebook friends, the Sydney company said Thursday.
The bank is also giving its iPhone users "bump" technology for payments. Bump allows users to exchange money by tapping two phones together.
The CommBank Kaching Facebook app will allow customers to view their balances and transactions, make peer-to-peer payments and complete third-party transfers.
