Currencycloud to power online cross-border payment platform in North America

B2B cross-border payments provider Currencycloud is partnering with online foreign exchange trading service OANDA to establish an international money transfer network for companies in North America.

The OANDA FX Payments online platform enables corporate clients to make cross-border payments in 35 currencies. The platform also helps companies reduce the cost of international transactions while hedging their currency risk and protecting the bottom line.

In launching OANDA FX Payments, the companies are also working with Shift Connect, a Canadian FX consultation company. Shift Connect will provide customer service operations.

"This is a unique proposition for OANDA and its corporate FX clients," Richard Arundel, North American general manager and co-founder of Currencycloud, said in a Wednesday press release. "By working closely with our existing partner, Shift Connect in North America, we have been able to create a one-of-a-kind cross-border payment solution for OANDA.”

New York-based OANDA's FX Payments is available to corporate clients through OANDA Business Information and Services Inc.., which also specializes in FX data services, including the OANDA Exchange Rates API, which provides access to daily averages, spot and forward rates, central bank exchange rates and other real-time data.

Launched in 2012, Currencycloud, with offices in London, New York and Amsterdam, has processed more than $65 billion in payments to more than 180 countries, working with banks and fintechs around the world, including Starling Bank, Revolut, Penta and Lunar.

In the past, Currencycloud has worked with partners such as Visa, Dwolla and Mambu to deliver financial infrastructure solutions for clients.
