Cynergy Taps Roam to Provide Mobile POS Technology

Cynergy Data has chosen Roam’s white-label product to power its Vwalaa mobile payment brand.

Roam, a subsidiary of terminal manufacturer Ingenico, offers a suite of mobile acceptance, self-checkout and onsite payments that are typically sold through local partners. The company is upgrading its chip card technology and partnered with iPayment to sell mobile technology to merchants.

Cynergy, which serves financial institutions, merchants and ISOs and processes about $10 billion in annual payments, will use Roam’s core platform components, including a mobile card reader, offline processing, configurable inventory management, previous purchase recognition and personalized receipts.

“Through Vwalaa Mobile Pay, we offer a seamless, custom-branded experience throughout the mobile application, management portal and customer service,” said Alvin Mayers, senior vice president of product at Cynergy Data, in a September 3 press release.
